Does anyone have any advice on which to chose/which is the best venue/how likely will I be to get decent seats?

If you can afford it, I'd go with both Kitchener and Hamilton. They're on consecutive nights, and are probably easiest to reach from VA. (I think driving through Buffalo would be a little shorter than going through Detroit.) Plus, they're really close to each other. (London's about an hour farther, Sarnia's about two.)

Both of those shows are already on sale, so it might not be as easy to get really good seats. Having said that, if you're only buying one ticket - as of five minutes ago, Hamilton's at 13th row, but Kitchener has fifth row.

Admittedly, I've never been to any of those four venues, so I can't really speak as to which venue might be better.

I honestly have no idea where Virginia is.  I'm ignorant on alot of US geography.  The only info I can give you is that if you cross into Canada through Detroit, MI, London is the easiest/quickest one to get to.

I am debating trying to get tickets to London.  The thing that sucks is that it's a Wednesday night and I work every Wednesday night and it's an hour and a half drive.  grrrr.  I mean, I'm seeing his acoustic show in Detroit but I haven't seen a full band show in a few years.

I was asking about the actual venues, but thanks for your input. I'm guessing London's is a pretty good one if you want to go there specifically.

Virginia is on the East coast below the capital, Washington DC. Thus I will be coming in through New York.

You can't take off work? I mean it's months from now so unless your boss is a complete douche, it seems like a pretty reasonable request.

"in a few years" ;) Lucky. How about NEVER for me. *cry*

Unfortunately, I need 2 tickets sitting next to each other, but I guess it would be a little easier to drive to Hamilton and Kitchener from NY than London or Sarnia, so thank you for the advice. Why would you suggest going to 2 shows, though? That's kinda breakin' the bank material.

That might just be me. I always figure if I'm going a long way for something, I try to do as much as I can while there - try to make it all worthwhile. And two consecutive nights in nearby cities would be too good to pass up if I'd already put in all of that driving. (I've definitely driven a long way for one show, but I think the longest was six hours, and I knew I had a free place to crash when I got there.)

Admittedly, by the time I did my Canada trip, I had a little bit of money to play with. (Last October, I went to shows in Saint Catherines and Toronto, and scheduled in an extra night at Niagara Falls and an extra night in Toronto just to check it all out.) I think my college self would have decided it was too far to go.

Ah, well I am definitely trying to minimize costs.

I will be driving for 10 hours. >.<

I got tix to the Kitchener show - HH seat 35 and 36 in the down stage lift. Whatever that means. ;)

I'm debating which venue to purchase tickets for.

Imperial Theatre

(Sarnia, Ontario)

Centre in the Square

(Kitchener, Ontario)

Hamilton Place Theatre

(Hamilton, Ontario)

Centennial Hall

(London, Ontario)

They are all kind of in the same area and since I'm coming from the U.S. I don't mind driving the extra few minutes.

Does anyone have any advice on which to chose/which is the best venue/how likely will I be to get decent seats?

Thanks in advance.

If you're crossing over from Michigan, Sarnia would definitely be your best bet. In fact, when he was here in October, I actually went to a ballet in Port Huron in the afternoon made it back on Canadian soil at least two hours to spare - and that was on the Sunday of the weekend when the dollar was at even par. The theatre itself is right downtown and is extremely easy to find once you get off the highway. And as someone who's been associated with that theatre since the day it opened, there's not a bad seat in the house. (8)

Heehee...by the end of tomorrow I will have two tickets to said Sarnia show...Ah, God bless you, Matthew Good. (8)

;)

I didn't look and see what shows are on sale or gonna be but if your gonna drive from Virginia(where in?) i'd wait and go to toronto as you can do other stuff there. TO is a GREAT city to just be in even on a budget, it's 101029029 times nicer than dc or nyc/philly. it's worth seeing on it's own.

anyway sarnia and london(it's rather drab and unless you wanna see the labatt factory doesn't got a lot going on) are small little places plus they are 2-4 hours from buffalo/niagara(which is gotta be on any agenda if your gonna be in the area)

Hamilton is a fairly big city and is only about 45 minutes from TO so of the 4 that'd be the pick for closeness + other activities.

gas is like 3x's more expensive in canada too so driving around there isn't budget friendly.

I couldn't recommend enough working a few extra days and at least spending a couple of days in toronto, your driving a long way just to see a concert(I know I've done it from philly to ontario 3 times) it's a long boring drive and it's a lot more enjoyable to see and do other stuff. I would also definitely if your not a vegetarian stopping in buffalo and visiting either duff's or the anchor bar and getting the original buffalo wings. Niagara falls is free and worth seeing, since you will be driving by it. there are casino's there and they are 19 if your interested. and things to do in Toronto fills books so yeah...

ps - i've never been to any of the venues : (

London, ON

Centennial Hall

June 11

On-Sale March 1 @ 10am

Tickets $32.50

Tickets will be available at the Centennial Hall box office, by calling (519) 672 - 1967 or visiting www.centennialhall.london.ca

London Show -

Well Im not a happy camper at all. Just went on Centenntial Hall's website to check out the seating plan (whether its seated or standing, its seated) and found out that most of the 'good' (no pun) tickets are taken.

Now how can this be as they weren't supposed to be on sale until TODAY AT 10AM.

Im not sure where the miss-communication was, whether it was strictly a box office fault, or maybe Matt (or those working for him) changed something and failed to inform the fans (or the box office) but Im not happy about it at all.

I will be at Centennial Hall at 10am like planned, like I always have for tickets for his concerts. I will speak to the box office manager, but I doubt anything will be done to right this wrong for all of the loyal fans.

Im not against the on sale date/time being changed, Im ok with that, what I have an issue with is the fact that it wasn't posted on matthewgood.org or on Centennial Hall's website (where no on sale date is listed as of now)

Im not happy one bit, and Im sure Im not alone, however I will still buy tickets for what will for sure be a great show and in support of one great artist.

ok, update: I was just at Centennial Hall and picked up my two tickets and the Manager said that the tickets went on sale YESTERDAY morning and that everything printed stating that today was the on sale date was wrong. Whatever, Im still not impressed though, but its in the past.

Anyways, Centennial Hall is old school and everything is kept tract of on a single printed seating plan. When I got my tickets it looked as if EVERY OTHER row was sold on the floor (orchestra seating) starting with the first row, just incase you were going to head down today.

I bought tickets to Kitchener because the best Hamilton tickets were all the way back in row K which is like the 24th row(https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/248/905/10m/origin.media.ticketmaster.com/en-ca/tmimages/venue/maps/tor/10021s.gif).

I made my route cross the Rainbow Bridge rather than the Peace Bridge so that I can at least see Niagara Falls, but I doubt I'll have the opportunity to sightsee in TO. I will probably come back up to Canada within the next few years and get tickets to a Massey Hall show (I hear those are sweet!) and do that then. I may be able to convince my bf to consider some extra days, but I'm basically paying for this trip by myself so with tickets, passport, hotel, gas, food, losing money at the money exchange (I am assuming there is one near the border crossing...), it's going to be a real bitch. No gambling for me!!

you can use your credit cards with a minimal exchange rate. You can also use US dollars at some places near the boarder. I would also look into changing money at a bank at the very least you might be able to do it at home.

Still waiting for Ottawa, but think I'm going to get tickets to Montreal just in case there isn't an Ottawa show. If there is, I'll just go to both.

I've never been to Club Soda in Montreal. Can anyone tell me what it's like and how likely it is to get a seat in any of the balconies?
