2009 Tour

Recommended Posts

I know that it would be impossible for anyone to know at this stage what the plans are for a 2009 Tour. However with the release of Vancouver set for a 'Summer 2009' release date do any of you have any hunches for when Matthew will Tour? Maybe based on previous album releases.

I'm from the UK and it I plan to catch a couple of shows in Canada next year. Obviously with the distance it requires a bit more planning.

I was in Toronto at the beginning of August but there were no gigs unfortunatly, he did a couple at the end of August but I couldn't change my plans.

Thanks

Yes I think I will send him an e-mail. The earlier I know then the earlier I can get everything booked!

I was in Toronto in August which is a great city so it would be good to visit somewhere in BC. I'd love to go to Vancouver.

Nearly One year ago I planned my holiday from Germany to catch a show in Canady.

I was really looking forward to see Matthew Good live again. There was a direct flight from Hamburg to Toronto and I send some emails to Matthew goods site. Maybe my english was not good enough to explain what I wanted. Holidays to another continent arent so easy to plan. Even if you are not native english-speaking.

Massey Hall tickets were avaible so I asked directly to officials how to buy some from over here. I want a ticket in my pocket before I spent money in such a travel.

But: The direct-flight from Hamburg starts in June and ends in September. The Gig was in May. And I never received any answers from Canada.

I forgot about my plan and went on Holiday to Finland.

And I was really really happy as I found out, that my missing concert was recorded and is out now on CD! On 2 CDs!

That was one of my highlights 2008. Magic!

I will definitely get to a full band show on the next tour. He seems to always go all out in Toronto so I may have to make that my destination.

after chicago, toronto is my favorite city i've visited thus far. It's very similar to NYC but cleaner and much much friendlier. You'll love it the MG show will be icing on the cake! I would try to make it a few days and if plays in St. Cath's(on the way if you drive) catch him at arizona's an outside venue it's awesome.

I've been to Toronto and Chicago. Chicago was pretty cool. Toronto was cool, but I do not agree that it is cleaner and friendlier than New York. I've never seen more homeless people than I've seen in Toronto. New York also does not have a strip of porn shops and strip clubs right in the middle of downtown like there was on Young Street in Toronto. New York is much safer too. I saw one cop my entire time in Toronto.

That said, I'd visit TO again, especially to see MG.

I don't know what part of TO you were in but I didn't see any homeless(although i'm sure their some) but just some quick numbers - http://www.ysop.org/statistics.htm - http://www.cbc.ca/canada/toronto/story/200...ss20060623.html those were the first sites I pulled off a simple google search but nyc is 6 times higher.

TO is 100 times safer than NYC period I don't even need to look it up,but for you(http://www.toronto.ca/quality_of_life/safety.htm) You only saw a cop here and there cause they don't need to patrol the streets. I'm also weary of how crime is reported in NYC, as a place that was at the top for violence 15-20 years ago suddenly so cleaned up is hard to believe.

i'm not gonna look but i'm sure there are plenty of porn shops in Manhattan, and if seeing some skin(a lot less restricted in Ontario) is a basis , yikes.

Yeah, I'm from Ireland and hope to get across this summer if he's playing. I was in Chicago last summer and was hoping to head North to see him, but alas, minimum wage jobs for people without Social Security Numbers don't exactly leave you with money to burn.

Anyway if you hear of anything from Matt's end, I'd really appreciate it if you would share it here.

Cheers.

lol, I don't need numbers. I know what I 've experienced. New York is one of the safest cities these days.

The point about the string of porn shops and clubs is just to suggest that I found Toronto a big seedier. Of course the west village in NYC is similar to that, but you expect that when you go to the west village. I didn't expect seeing that right across from the Eaton Center Mall and in the middle of downtown in Toronto. That's the difference.

I'm staying alone downtown. I F* HATE cities. Is it safe?

The hotel you're staying at is in the business district, not far from my office actually. It's a very safe area, close to the Vancouver Art Gallery and across the street from Pacific Centre shopping mall.

my sister lives in downtown Toronto. When i'm there and peak out the window there's always 2-3 homeless peeps just sleeping on the street corners. its pretty sad.

What do they do in NYC? They must sweep them into a corner or something, because they have to there.

He played Germany, once upon a time.

Indeed! I used to own that Germany set until my old computer completely crashed on me and I lost it forever. That set had an amazing performance of Suburbia on it. The day I find that set again is the day I can feel whole again.

Oh...Hi, everyone. First post. Glad to be here.

I'm hoping he returns to NY to do a show. I was so pissed I had to miss the last time he was in town.

It's funny how you guys mention NY being so bad with crime. I expected it to be worse when I moved to NY, but strangely enough I feel safer here than I did in certain parts of Texas where I grew up.
