Universal Studio Time?

Recommended Posts

Matt is obviously killing himself making this record.... does anyone know why? My guess is he has a very limited amount of time reserved in the studio $$$$.

Being a musician isn't as glorious as we'd like to imagine ;). They go to work just like we all do.

Like Anton said, it's work. You like what you do for a living but it's not always easy. It's not go in the studio, play the guitar, play the bass, play the drum, sing, go home to sleep and tada a record is made. So to achieve something of quality you have to work for it. I'm sure even David Gilmour didn't always have fun in the studio and probably "killed" himself for a record and he's not far from being a genius.

When it's your job, no matter how much you may love it...it's still work. The great thing is, that a lot of love goes into what comes out of Matt's job, it has to for it to have the impact that it does...therefore making it as demanding as any other job might be but hopefully just as rewarding if not more so.

I remember he was practically killing himself on HM...and the Vancouver demos seemed to be a lot more complex so I'm sure there's a lot more work than last time.

It'll still be amazing when it's finished in a month's time, more or less.

Perfectionism comes at a price. I mean, can you imagine Matthew saying at any time "...oh fuck it, that'll do..." I mean, I can say it in my job, from time to time...but he won't, for sure. So, yeah, long hours, blood, sweat and tears...that's why we love him

I wouldn't say that's why we love him, you could name thousands of other artists who do the same thing in the studio. I think we love him for both his music, personality, and human rights issues.

That might've just been something they do for all their aristst though. Hopefully they'll start advertising MG's albums better this time around.

Maybe. I just noticed it and they haven't done it before. So it sounds positive to me.

yeah that was cool, there were a couple other sound checks. I'd love to see what goes into a live set with them. It's neat to see/hear about the visual cues the band takes from matt.

Thanks for the post ! 1 ! !! ! !

edit : where's the mp3 for safer than a bank acoustic? lol - it's up at the begining of Champions of nothing acoustic.
