Matt Good Ongoing History Scheduled Dates Are Up

Recommended Posts

It was on the edge at 9am today, I got up nice and early just to listen to it and then went back to sleep. It was pretty good. Didn't touch up on AoB that much, and completely fast forwarded BM, which is ok.

Of all things, why is that ok? You not a big fan of BM? That's exactly what should be the most interesting.

that sounds disappointing. i think the 1999 - 2002 part of his career is the most interesting and least documented. As interesting as the WLRRR and HM part of his career is, within the community is has been documented very well, with Matt writing a long post on his site about is a year or two ago.

I'm a huge fan of BM, but I'm an even bigger fan of the Audio of Being. I would have liked to hear more of what was going on during the process, because at times it can be such a painful record to listen to. (In an emotional and interesting way)

I'm ok with them covering less of BM because I'm not as curious as to what the process was like. I'm sure it had its ups and downs, but I'm also sure they got along better as a band back then. We were all there to witness the rockstar egos, the countless interviews, much spotlight episodes, music videos. There was no coverage of AoB. It was a huge commercial failure and was quickly put to bed when the band broke up. I like to think of it as Matt's "Pinkerton". ;)

That already exists, you can find it on YouTube

I love that new music special, but there is a lot of fluff, and generally made it look like their time in the studio was a breeze.

that about sums it up, difference of course is that matt actually made more good albums after the audio of being, weezer...well....meh

how much of that was creative editing vs. when it was filmed we might not find out, but it does give off a strange feeling while watching it and knowing what happened.

It's actually pretty eerie watching that special. The interviews with Matt are the only ones that aren't uncomfortable. He seems to be the only one trying to pretend like it wasn't one of the most difficult sessions of his career.

And hey, Weezer had Maladroit. It wasn't that terrible.

i can't think of many occasions in the going coastal special where all the guys are in the room at the same time during interviews, except for the time when dave and matt are talking about wrestling.
