Looks Like Vinyl Releases Of Back Catalog Are Coming

Went to my local record store in Toronto and another copy of HM had the pressing issue. I'm 0/3 and giving up. Hopefully this is recalled or reprinted without this fuck up...

I ordered off his website & haven't had any problems with my vinyl. Maybe they have some better pressings in stock.

I ordered from his site and also had the same issue, so I don't think its necessarily where you order from.

I made my order through Amazon. Perhaps I'll be one of the lucky few without any defects.

This is sad to hear. I was going to order the vinyl but now think I should wait. I live in the States and don't want to deal with shipping back and forth if there is an issue. I hope that all of you get working copies.

My copy of HM has the defect too.  I got mine from Amazon, but won't bother sending it back if the defect is due to the pressing. 

 

I am loving the entire process of playing with vinyl again:  takes me back to my youth, for sure!

So I finally got around to listening to the releases tonight. I loved the sound of Beautiful Midnight, and Raygun was also good. Had a funny experience with Raygun as I had never listened to it before and forgot to change the speed. So as the vocals came in I was convinced satan was singing lead. Hospital Music was awesome and I felt was the best transfer of the bunch. It's my favourite Matt Good record already but I have a new found love for it after hearing it on vinyl. I was hearing things I had never heard before especially on Champions of Nothing. Also to confirm I also have the skip during 99% ,and I bought it from HMV. Now eagerly awaiting the rest of the catalog!

I feel special that I have the skip-free version of 99%. It's like the 2016 version of Lo-Fi B-Sides or the blue Loser Anthems. Or at least that's what I keep telling myself in order to feel special :)

Oh the warmth of Hospital Music.... The details just pop out at you!! I am just on the second song.

 

And yup.... 99 skips on mine but doesnt repeat.... So thats sort of a win, right?

I stand corrected - 99% DOES have a "pop" on my copy too. Doesn't skip or repeat, just a pop that really shouldn't be there. Maybe every single copy is like this....

Are you sure that pop isn't from the "record-player audio sample" within the 99% song? I showed an example earlier in the thread.

 

I skip that track altogether because the background is so noisy, irritates my ears lol.

 

Hospital Music is my favorite sounding album so far, you can individually pick out each instrument like the band is playing infront of you.

 

Straight forward Rock & Roll album.

Same as always, but, at this point, you should probably just expect that it has the defect and hope that your turntable can play over it.  (Amazon sometimes pulls a listing if they get too many returns for a specific problem.  I'm a little surprised that hasn't happened here.)
