Matt is entitled to make whatever kind of music he wants to, whether or no people like his new material or not is their choice, he's not going to bow down and continue to make the same record over and over again because some people are complaining its not 'matt good' music.

Yeah some people like artists because they do exactly that, the same old song over and over again.

 

What I think is sad though is that people who truly like the evolution an artist can have in his music are seen as suck ups. I like WLRRR so therefore I am a Matt Good asskisser because obviously it's not a good record.

 

Some people don't know how to differenciate what they think of a piece of art and a blatant pointless judgement. I don't particularely like rap or country but I am not closed to it. Some songs I like in both styles. There is always a gray area to everything, it's not always love or hate especially with art.

 

I personally believe you can't really have expectations from an artist. Art is art it's what comes out that is the result of what you feel at the moment and that's just the way it is. Of course there again there are gray areas I mean, not all art is good art. If a guy who doesn't know how to play guitar picks up a guitar and starts jamming, that may be what he's feeling but it wont make it good.

 

Anyhow I'm just blabbing. All in all I agree ;)

I don't know if I'm going to get banned for this cause I was sticking up for "Failing...." but I think he has a perfectly good point.

 

Just because somebody doesn't enjoy something doesn't mean they're closeminded at all. People are entitled to listen to what they want. People usually listen to music that they enjoy. If a song by +jackpillowhead doesn't really cater to his interests, why is he closeminded.

 

I don't think I'm closeminded at all, and I do like a lot of bands out there, and I do enjoy the +jackpillowhead songs. "Seriously serious", not so much though.

 

I don't like rap either, am I being ignorant? I don't think so. It doesn't interest me.

 

Everybody as got tastes, deal with it. We can criticize whatever we want, we're entitled to it. Matt Good DOESN'T have to change anything or do what people expect of him, but there will always be room for people to think that if he did, the music would be better.

I don't know if that was following my post but I have to point out a few things:

 

1-Not liking music because you don't like it is ok. Saying it's shit is not. Disliking music without listening because it's one particular style isn't fair but it's someones right.

 

2-Spitting on people because they like something someone else doesn't (IE all the people called ass-suckers because they like WLRRR) is really bad

 

3-Everything I said was not directed at anyone in particular including Failing. Hell I didn't even read the whole thread which is why I made my own little opinion of the general subject and posted it here. It wasn't a response to anything.

 

4-I disagree with Matthew Good on some topics. He's not a god and like with everyone you have to take some and leave some. Making him 100% right everytime regardless of your own beliefs and opinions would be being obsessed and I think that's not good for anyone. But agreeing with him is not wrong either.

 

And again I'm not directing anything here to anyone in particular you included.
