Yeah, the amputation i can even excuse, if somewhat overdramatic. But the psychiatric clinic at the end was really ridiculous, and almost cartoonish.

 

I thought the movie just got too cliched by the end and I really lost the ability to care about the characters after all was said and done. I've been told (have yet to see the movie myself) that Pi is the better of the director's movies by far.

one thing i did like about the movie is the music. it really set the various moods in the movie.

I said it a million times before but I don't mind saying it once more. Best soundtrack ever.

What I did find kind of funny was that the 'instrumental' dramatic music in Requiem was the same music they decided to use in LOTR: ROTK. I remember I saw the LOTR trailer and was like "hmmm i recognize this instrumental..." Kind of a strange pair to share a song.

Pi was a great movie if you enjoy slitting your wrists and hanging from the ceiling...

too depressing you gotta have alittle fun with drugs otherwise it'd be meaningless to use them ie. i like trainspotting alot more

You just have to understand how hard the movie is before you watch it, and then not watch it until you are in the mood you need to be in to deal with the film.
