Mg Cover's, Lets Hear 'em

Recommended Posts

Jeremy, I don't know what any of that is. I'm not great with computers. but yeah, I probably need to buy a soundcard , new mic, recording prog, and oother stuff.

This is the best solo version I've seen of prime time. I'm sure there're others who'd like to play it, so I tabbed it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

this is in standard, and relative to a capo on the 2nd fret.

these are all 4 parts, figure out which order they go in.

>--0---0---X---0---0---0---
--0---0---4---0---0---0---
--1---4---4---4---4---4---
--2---4---6---X---4---2---
--2---2---6---2---2---0---
--0---0---4---0---0---X---

----0---0---0------------=
----0---4---0-------------
----4---4---4-------------
----X---X---2-------------
----2---2---0-------------
----0---0---X-------------

----X---0---0-------------
----2---0---0-------------
----2---4---4-------------
----4---4---2-------------
----4---2---0-------------
----2---0---X-------------

^ this is the interlude and the ending

----0---0---0-------------
----0---0---0-------------
----4---4---4-------------
----X---4---2-------------
----2---2---0-------------
----0---0---X-------------

my ear's not great, but I think the chord above is either 02x400 or 079900

hey rabbit, i played it half a step down on the recording, cause that's the tuning i was in at the time, and used the chords

Verse: G Bm Em D C

Chorus: Em D C

plus an Am in there somewhere

I haven't tried playing your way but i'm sure it works, the chords sound the same for the most part,

rock on

FireTeddy (the guy was around the APH at some point), which I believe was two guys, did a cover of Fine Art. David Adedokun, of the now defunct Courage Riley, did a live cover of Running For Home and he e-mailed me about having done another one live that wasn't recorded, but I don't really remember what one it was anymore.

I think Julian Lepinski (he runs the tab archive) did a couple of covers, too, didn't he?

Other than that, I haven't really heard anything other than a friend or two or people at acoustic nights at the bar doing any covers.

There's a guy in the UK who recorded three MG covers (which he hopefully won't mind me linking):

beat me to it ;) thanks for remembering!

I started recording Double Life acoustically, but never got round to finishing it. Have done Empty Road live a couple of times when playing in my local.

little overboard on the reverb at the start anyway. otherwise, very nicely done.

what kind of guitar are you using? i really like the tone.

EDIT: the last incarnation of my band covered i, the throw away, and sort of a protest song, but the only recorded versions of those i have are on a dvd we did back in october of last year, and since i don't have a dvd burner or a decent mic at the house it would be pretty hard to transfer them over.

the drums and organ sound lifted directly from the lotga cd on the she's got a new disguise cover.

Hey Noise Pollution, its on, but you better get your head out of your ass and learn the solo, I can't always play it. I agree the Steeples jam isn't gonna cut it, the one at Monty's was much better.

Hey Scot, it's a Taylor.

Your cover of fake plastic trees is amazing. Your voice sort of reminds me of Dallas from Alexisonfire.

Do you use any effects on your voice after its recorded? I'm assuming there's some reverb but anything else?

Nice work.

I just listened to your cover of PTD...and I think it says something about your talent that I was able to listen to it all the way through. It's been my favorite song since the record was released and it's taken me a few days to get up the courage to listen to your cover.

You have done the song justice. Good job:)

drums are yeah - I'm rubbish at sequencing them, I just looped the intro drum loop and added some tambo ;)

there's no organ on there  just bass & 2 acoustic guitar tracks

Jezza your PTD is acers, deffo holding onto that
